Im not so sure Id want to lug around something like just encase... if ya know what I mean. I might throw it in the 4x4 but Id rather travel light as possible with with the thing. I always carry a spare so I think I will forgo the anchor for a light weight shovel? LOL

If your worried about sugar sand -- you might just take 2 sleeping bags and use them as a road out of stuck sand- I used to tie a cord on them to the bumper so they would follow me out.- sounds like a great trip.
