I thought I posted it, but what I should have taken was a boat anchor, to pull against when stuck in the soft sand. a plough SP? plow anchor digs into the sand and you can pull against it.


I had a buddy who a had a Pull Pal. Worked great in the sand and folds up. Cool

Thanks Sam for the link. I remember it now and in fact posted on it a few times... I'm getting forgetful. Oh well!

Im not so sure Id want to lug around something like just encase... if ya know what I mean. I might throw it in the 4x4 but Id rather travel light as possible with with the thing. I always carry a spare so I think I will forgo the anchor for a light weight shovel? LOL

Laughing If your worried about sugar sand -- you might just take 2 sleeping bags and use them as a road out of stuck sand- I used to tie a cord on them to the bumper so they would follow me out.- sounds like a great trip.
