Can someone tell me what the thread pitch is for the big M12 bolts that hold the engine and transmission together? Thanks

ah there's two types
coarse is 1.75 and fine is 1,1.25, 1.5

most likely it's a coarse thread into alloy

It is the same thread as the 12mm diesel head bolts. I can't find the pitch anywhere for you. I think I might have a bolt laying around that I could put my pitch gauge on. I would be inclined to get new bolts from the dealer that are application specific. mark

I think he is looking for the bellhousing bolts to bolt up to a diesel block. The bulk of the bolts are 12mm.

Ahh, yes, I totally missed his sig line.

So the diesel bellhousings are drilled for M12's? Didn't know that.

Looking for this info too. If anyone also has the proper VW p/n that'd rock too!
