Why not just start out with one of these?

cos i can build one so why not, cos i want to keep some og metal even if its minimal and cost. But ultimately cos i chose this path as its the way i wanted to do it. Buying a chassis does not demonstrate my skills just my bank balance. I run a restoration shop here in the uk so the bus is a demonstration of skill as much as realising a personal dream of owning a barndoor. We each choose our paths in life i am not saying buying a chassis is wrong its just not the way i chose |

Hi everyone!
I'm new to the forum and thought I'd hijack this thread if nobody minds as I now have my hands on this little gem.
I run a small fab/bodyshop in the UK and will be building it in my spare time so updates may be slow so if I carry on with the thread it should give me a bit more go!!
Cheers
Jeff.

Two UK owners since we dragged this old girl back from Sweden with the Tocksfors in 2013! Jeff is the third to have a crack and i imagine it's in good hands. Then again ........... I hope you know your way round a barndoor dude. They're not like later buses you know. You got any previous experience with these old buses? |

So the first job will be building the chassis, the rear torsion section had already been started but i decided to rip it apart as the tubes were as crusty as a whores draws!
I couldn't get hold of any tube the correct size so I had to give the roller a thrashing and make my own.
Then carefully mark,cut and weld.
