Working in the van right now and two things popped up
I am installing the T3 sway bar. Installing the lower end links. One side is sloped and the other is flat. I installed with the sloped side going into the recess on the control arm. Fits nicely but looks sort of deformed when tightened against the curved flat washer on the end. Switched it around and looks like a bear to get the flat side into that recess. Which way should it be. BTW these are the whiteside bushings and are shaped like the powerflex.
Second question I am also installing the GW big brake kit. I installed the new spindles as they said was needed. Now I am finding that dust plates are different also. I can drop 80 bucks for new ones and delay completion again but I thought I read that perhaps the dust shields are not needed. I'm thinking I need to get them but just want to throw this out there.

Looks like the tapered side is set into the recesses. what I originally thought until I second guessed myself and took it apart. Thanks and apparently my local used parts guy has the brake shields. _________________ 83.5 233K. GW 2.3, SS exhaust, My German Frau named her Stefi |

Loogy confirmed that the sloped sides go inside the recessed holes in the arm. This is what I thought but as the sloped side on the Radius control arm goes against the curved washer it might give one pause to think the set up would be the same on the end link. _________________ 83.5 233K. I wouldnt sweat the dust shields too hard. I left mine off after the big brake upgrade as they are much too small. If somebody made new nice SS ones for 2wd I'd probably buy them, but the stock ones arent worth the trouble. |
