Well as promised I'm starting a thread on my new DC, I feel really dumb for not starting a thread on my 15 window and my ezcamper. So this time around I'm doing so to help document journey with this one and also for the help I will need getting it were I want it to be. Its not perfect by any means and will need allot of work but I'm up to the challenge. Here's what I know so far the guy I got it from got it about two and half years ago out of Oregon and from pics I've seen and condition its in now and work he had done to it, PRETTY rusty! both inner and outer rockers shot and inner wheel wells and battery tray rusty!
He had inner and outer rockers fixed here locally but just that meaning metal replaced but not body worked and left in primer. My plan at first is to get it drive able and work on it as budget and time permits.
day it was delivered.
at OCTO
In garage safe next to his big sister Audrey

Very first thing I did was remove PO owners personal touches like stickers, paintings and He had a bear head bottle opener screwed to passenger dogleg. Here are some before and after pics.
Before
After
Then I spent five minutes by hand to see if paint will buff out on roof.
I think it will buff out nicely after I give it the full treatment. _________________

Looks like it to me, I can email you pics of how it looked when I found it about 8 years ago, me and a buddy dragged it out about 3 years ago or so. Glad it's finally found a good home Earl! |

Earl you need to raise that sucker UP!
Nice original paint, what do all those M-codes mean? I'm too lazy to look them up.
I have an extra bastard 40 horse engine case and a rusty BR25 if you decide to go stock.

M017 Rear brake and taillights combined
That's a strange m-code. Brake light decklid ended in April/57 _________________ WANTED:

Congrats Earl. Definitely needs to be raised to stock with some 15's on bias plys (or big LT tires). _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

Dan, for now Its gonna stay lowered. original paint is a stretch. I do appreciate
the offers and one day I may take you up on them.

155/60/15 I think they are smart car tires. I am done. I now have my top two buses that I've always wanted. wheels and tires will be sold or traded for parts or other things I need. not really my style.

Ok I'm on day five of soaking pop out screws but really day four because i missed a day.
Mean while I spent about 5 hours trying to strip paint over passenger side wheel wells. I couldn't take the charger blue any more. Well after all my hard work there wasn't much og paint left.
So I tried my hand at some paint blending. The good news is the primer and charger blue is gone. Bad news my paint match isn't that good in my opinion
I believe truck has been repainted from windows down at some point and blue is darker and the paint I had mixed up came from a sample inside a og bus but not mine.
I tried wet sanding it to blend but no luck in my mind. but for now it will do until I get around to doing a better job of it.

Here is driver side
For now It will do. Just happy that Charge Blue is gone along with primer.
Slowly turning the look around on DC.
PO powered coated mirror arms, front safaris and back safari window grey
So today I sanded down mirror arms and hit them with some dove blue paint.I will do safaris next. I plan on removing rear safari window and putting stock glass back in.
anyone want some dove blue apples?
Bad news I did drop passenger side mirror and broke it. Its a WW one so no big deal I"ll order another one. _________________
