Hey I was curious what the dimmensions of the wood slats of a westy rack are??? Also anybody here ever replaced the wood on their rack? and what did you use, redwood???,,oak??? I was at home depot and found some 5/8 x 1 3/8 slats with rounded edges. these look like the right dimmension. I am ordering a 6 bow full length polished stainless westy rack from creative engineering minus the wood and the long aluminum tubes. They told me to source out the wood and aluminum over here because it costs to much to ship the long wood slats. Thanks Jay

jayking-I assume someone emailed you the dimensions you need, since there are no answers posted. But, someone else might need to know between now and the 7th so here goes. I restored a rack a few years ago and like many bus owners, I never throw anything away. I measured one of the OG slats. They are 13mm x 36mm x 1155mm and appear to be white oak, but mine are so weathered that I can't tell for sure. Basically they are 1/2" x 1 1/2". Hope this helps. Oh, good luck finding METRIC aluminum tubing in the states. I'm sure it is somewhere, but I never did find any. I ended up using tubing from a TV antenna that was a good fit. Chris
