Newbie here. Very Happy

So the thing happened, the timing-belt snapped and hence naturally destroyed the camshaft.
I will get a new cylinder-head with camshaft and the other stuff needed to fix the engine. Could anybody help out and provide instructions on timing off the cam and the injection-pump?

Appreciate any insights - thx.

Have you checked the piston protrusion with a dial indicator to ensure that the rods and pistons weren't damaged by the contact with the valves? Usually the head absorbs most of the impact, but there's a possibility that the bottom end can suffer, as well. Since Volvo used that same engine series for years, you might have better luck finding knowledgeable folks on one of those sites, since that engine was never installed in the T3/Vanagon. Good luck!
