I am "relatively" new here, and I just saw this thread today. Looking at that sequence from stop to go was an emotional experience, I had to break out a Cohiba and sit on the patio to reflect when I was finished.
Great stuff 10cent

I'm the owner of aircooled engine but for all you WBX owners...
Any questions why tencentlife is to WBXs what Jake is to my TypeIV?
if I owned a WBX I'd have a hard time rationalizing why I'd own anyone else's engine
the level of his craftmanship and knowledge leaves me in awe _________________ "The floggings will continue until morale improves"

Well Jake has a lot more in the way of resources (wish I had a big building full of machine tools, and an in-house dyno), but I keep plugging along.......
Thanks for the nice comments, all. _________________ Shop for unique Vanagon accessories at the Vanistan shop:

Hey tencent....I asked about the Trasko oil filter on the Subaru Outback forum and I think I kinda got laughed at. I still thought they were a good idea but left the idea behind. Then....I see in this post that you use them!!!! So I feel much better about thinking of using them.
Would that be the Trasko TI-10S you are installing? And I am assuming there is enough clearance for the Trasko. Their web site says there shouldn't be issues but I figure if you have them on your engines there should be no problem. And it is the one with fins right? I see one on there without fins and the Trasko bee with the letters USA.

That's the right one, and they fit just like stock. It's a really good filter. _________________ Shop for unique Vanagon accessories at the Vanistan shop:

Has 10cent torn down this engine? How did the QSC pistons hold up with 9.7 to 1 compression ratio? |

Hello USA
What came out of the QSC test. Any good?
How are the quality they supply today?
I am T4 oxy guy. And the regular quality P&C are so and so. People start to use Porsche 964 P&C nikasil. They last long and are exceptional quality, if you can get your hands on a low mileage set.
