Hello everyone,

I'm just wondering if someone has installed an Electronic Ignition Conversion Kit on a 010 Bosh (6 volts)?
If it exist for a 6 volys system

It should be more reliable (maybe)?

Tx

Pertronix 1844N6 fits. I've heard many reports that the 6v units don't deal with voltages drops. You can have missing problems when the high beams are on or the headlights and wipers.

There's nothing wrong with points.

Also note that you'll have to enlarge the hole in the mounting plate that the brass pin passes through. It's too small and Pertronix has not corrected it even though I told their tech support about it years ago.

Crane make a 6v unit; I had it on a 009 but guess they do a version that would fit the 010. However, it is the type with the optical trigger in the distributor and seperate box of tricks, so harder to hide than the Pertronix. I used one for 7 years and had no issues until the day I sold the car and it broke on the test drive!

Thanks
Richard

Would this 6-volt setup for an 010/019 be able to fit a 383 distributor? they both use 2-piece style points
