Okay, if I had to do this over, I probably would not have done this. Any ideas on the removal of this beast? I thought I could grind off the tie rod end and pop the bolt out............ yeah right? Mighty obliged for any advice. Cheers

Heat up that spindle and smack the threaded end with a BFH until it pops out. |

When in doubt, get a bigger hammer. It's stuck because of the taper. Give it some good smacks. |

This ^^ smack the side of that arm with the broken stud in it a few times with a hammer. It will shock the metal and let the stud pop loose. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

I rented this from Auto-Zone because I didn't have too many options. Thought it would be a whole day ordeal. Took about three minutes when the bolt went snap and all good. Bingo!!!! |

Can you use the pitman arm/tie rod puller on ball joints too?
I had the ball joint scissors type tool referenced above but mine broke one of the pry ears off when using so it went into the garbage can.
I tried the two pound hammer on the spindle with the front end raised and that did not pop the ball joint either.
Sorry for the hijack! |

Smake the knuckle/spindle harder on the side next to the ball joint. It may take several smacks with a big hammer but it the stud will break free from it's grip. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]
