Looking at buying three dealer signs, some porcelain chips.
1 VW Parts large
1 VW Service slightly smaller
and 1 VW logo with arrow sign, small.
All three come from a late '50s origin dealer.
Price range and condition; any ideas?
Thanks! _________________ Scott |

Its tough to give a price range for a sign without at least a few pictures of each. They generally start around $800 and can be $1500 or more for a really nice one. Rarity comes in to play as well with the big collectors willing to pay more for hard to find signs.
To give a few examples, the VW Service sign in English like this one is probably priced about right as its a more common sign (although I would need more pictures to evaluate its condition):

A sign like this is much more rare so if Mark ever puts a price on it I'm guessing its going to be north of $1500:

Then you have an example like this which I think is a bit over priced right now. The Dienst sign is a bit rough and the arrow sign does not have the VW logo so is worth less in my opinion:

This is just my opinion so take it for what it is. Also, be on the look out for fakes/repros as they are out there. _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

Thanks for the information.... much appreciated. Also a one side dealer lollipop from the '60s-70s.... a small piece knocked out and a chip but with frame.

This topic has me wondering about the value of a 8 foot diameter round Plexiglas face of a VW "lollipop" sign from the 60's. I received a complete sign fixture with two perfect faces and the band off the top of the pole at an ex VW dealership back in the mid 90's. I eventually sold the band and one face around the end of the 90's and kept the best face for use on the ceiling of my garage. Just wondering what the face might be worth for insurance purposes. Anyone remember seeing the value of one of these beasts from previous ads or sales?
The VW rep even gave me another huge sign fixture from the same ex-dealership, a 7' tall rectangular "VW USED CARS" sign from which I kept the faces. One face is on it's way now to my great friend Bob Van Heyst for display at his BBT showroom in Belgium. The other is in my garage. Just curious what value they have. Thanks!
