I noticed a leak on my master cylinder and started looking for a replacement. I noticed mine does not look like most typical master cylinders for a 1970. I was hoping you guys could help me figure out which one to buy. It has 2 hard lines 2 brake switches, and the reservoir on top.

Your picture is the 1970 211 611 021 T with the 2 switches

The 68- 69 year model is a 211 611 021 Q with 3 switches

You will have to shop around and Call since i see a replacement from
autohausaz only comes with one brake light switch port ?

check bus depot, bughaus and others

Wolfsburg West has all the early bay master cylinders. The T you need is only available in the highest quality version.

(Chris, interestingly enough, the Q 68-69 picture on WW shows a dual switch master. My '69 had a dual switch master installed some years ago too.)

Also, should I replace the switches even if they are working fine?

I think it would be worth a call to them and ask who made it and where was made. Wink

If your brake switches work, I wouldn't automatically replace them. They could be good German made ATE switches or another good brand. If they are Autozone cheap Chinese made specials, yea, they need to go in the trash can and then be replaced with German made ones.

The last Raybestos MC I bought from RockAuto (for my old 70 camper) was in fact an ATE made in Germany but packed in a Raybestos box. For $27.

If you order this one, and it is an ATE, let us know. I'll by another one just for shelf stock.

See how DKP Driver posted the part numbers above, and they have letters after each? It's just a quick way of differentiation between two similar but different parts. If you look at the parts on Wolfsburg West's website, you'll see matching part numbers.

Unfortunately the last Raybestos was bought up before I could but it. I ended up getting the IAP brand.

If anyone was in the market Jbugs has German made brake lines for a pretty good price. They have free shipping over $100 so in my case it made the decision pretty easy. Ill update again when I get my Master cylinder from Rockauto

Is there a country of manufacture on the packaging? I am guessing it is Brazil or Mexico. I think the only China versions are KMM. If it were German, it would likely say ATE on the side.
