I searched the Forum for Turo and got nothing
Walking to Moscone Center on Market I see a big sign for " rent this" with a picture of a Vanagon
Google makes it look like a time share service for VW rentals
Anyone know about this? _________________ .ssS! |

I don't know about it, but it looks like Airbnb for cars. The Vanagon appears to be an exception as most cars in the Seattle listings are ordinary late model cars.
Add Turo to car rental car agencies, car2go, ReachNow, Zipcar, Metro, etc. as reasons to not own a car in Seattle. Good news.
p.s. Here's an '83 Westy available on Turo for $170/day in Seattle. I wonder what the "...part of the Black Forest Westfalias fleet" refers to.

p.p.s. It looks like The Black Forest Fleet is a source for Westy rentals in Seattle:

There's so much to learn on the internets... _________________ - Jim

Exec summary
Reviews are pretty crappy. Looks to me like a idea that is interesting on paper but not practical. _________________ .ssS! |

I found turo a little over a year ago (it was a different name then). Not a vanagon experience, but wanted to rent a 911 for my wife's birthday. I found a beautiful carrera s manual and reserved it. The process was brilliant! I left my truck in the persons driveway for the weekend and had an absolute blast for 3days. Literally felt like I stole it at first. I understand however that it is all down to the cars and people involved. Btw, I've only used it once. |
