Hi all
I'm looking to upgrade to an 010 from the 009 that is currently on my engine.

I'm not sure if it's the late hour, but I can't find (google and forum search) or remember the part numbers of the points, rotor or condenser that should be on a 010 distributor.
(Bosch 0231129010 jfr4)

To me it looks as though the 010 I'm looking at has 36 hp rotor and condenser
It has
condenser 1-237-330-055
and rotor 234-332-088
unknown points

I think the points should be 111-998-051 (Bosch 01001)
and condenser 1-237-330-067 , but I've seen 111-905-295 Bosch 02-170 , and 2006 also listed as parts

Rotor ???????
Cap ??????

To be honest I've seen so many numbers tonight I've confused myself.

Could someone help me out with the correct part numbers, vw and or bosch for a 010 distributor?

Would the wrong condenser/points as it sits now adversely affect performance?

Thanks
Dave

01 001 points
02 006 condenser
03 019 cap
04 008 rotor

Those are the current Bosch numbers.

I have everything in stock, PM me if interested.

Condensers are pretty generic, but the points need to be correct or they won't fit.

Thank you.
I'll sort through my box of parts and see what I need.

Glen,
I know this is a years' old thread but what is the differance between the two set of dizzy components (brown cap set & black cap set) you show above, if any? I'm trying to educate myself on my 010 on my stock '59 36hp.
Thanks

Both work the same... the left side is NOS made in the later 50s and the right side are current production.

The left side is hard to find and very expensive and the right side is easy to get and reasonably priced.

Thank you Glenn. Now I know why they call you Mr. 010. Wink
Are the part numbers the same with NOS & current?

Can this 1 237 330 067 condensor be used for an 010?

I did some online searching and it says it cross-matches with 02 006 but I wanted to be sure.

Yes, it's the same, just the wire is longer. You can cut it if it bothers you.
