I am putting a bed and a chair in my 1961 walk thru. How were they stabilized/bolted to the floor? If there is special hardware what is it called and can I get it from vw venders?

This is from the gallery uploaded by Everett. You don't have to use the wing nuts, you can use regular hex nuts if you want.

For a bed... you only need bolts, washers & nuts.
The bolt is not a hardware store item... the rest is.
Here's the $3.25 bolt:

The "T" of those bolts goes into slotted metal on your floor, should look like this:

For the chair (behind the driver?)... you might have to add those seat anchors.
But if you don't want to weld... you can just drill a hole in the floor & use a regular hex bolt. If you drill hole(s)... I'd suggest drilling through only the high ridges of the floor... and then using bent washers on the underside of the bus. Then, the chair will be sitting nice & snug against metal... at the point of clamping.
