My interior sliding door panel is extremely warped due to a leaky sliding window.
Has anyone had luck stripping the upholstery and transplanting it to a different panel material like ABS?
Any recommended fixes would be appreciated.

Been done many times for sure.
Not so often on the Vanagon but on the old Beetles? For sure!
I've done it myself.
It isn't hard, carefully pry off the glued tabs on the back, sometimes there are short rusty staples.
Using a thin putty knife work off the vinyl and foam from the warped wood. Depending upon your door style there may be a heat sealed seam that fuses the vinyl to the wood. Be very careful removing this area, don't tear the vinyl.
Once off, get a sheet of tempered masonite and duplicate the old wood by tracing it. Sometimes it helps to wet the old wood and press it flat with some concrete blocks. Once dry you have a useable template to trace around.
Reinstall the vinyl using a good automotive contact cement, staple
and reinstall.
