I found limited-slip to be great for winter driving; used to have a Ford Crown Victoria as a company car which you would figure would be terrible in the snow but this one had limited-slip and it was fantastic, even without snow tires. Best was as stuartzickefoose said, stop-start low traction situations. Powering out of that snowed-in parking space, getting started on hills or when turning. Good stuff.
Also in my past days I owned two different MINIs, one without and LSD and later, one with an LSD when they started offering it. The MINI was a front wheel drive car and when driving "assertively" (i.e. lots of power applied exiting a turn) it would just smoke that inside front tire rather than get the power to the ground.
With an LSD that sucker would hook up and GO! _________________ 1965 Volkswagen 1500 Variant S

You can convert a standard diff to LSD but you have to acid treat the gears to harden them. Be careful handling acid and don't drop it. _________________ .ssS! |
