I just purchased a 87 GTI and new to the whole water-cooled scene as I have always had air-cooled but I wanted to try something new. So, I can not seem to find anyone that can tell me how or even if I can lower my new project. Also, I have seen some really nice engine swaps. What would be a good choice, I have been eyeing some Audi engines but not sure what would be a good choice. Anyone able to point me in the right direction? |

Best way to lower a mkII is with coil-overs. Either a kit on the stock(modified) struts or a full aftermarket kit. Cut springs is just plain dumb. You can bag it too.
Motor swaps are as varied as you want, VR, 1.8T, ABA... depends upon how much power and complication you want. |

If it runs & drives, LITFA (leave it the f*** alone) & beat the ever lovin dog snot out of it, replace the engine when (if) it dies. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.
