Thx guys.
I'll probably print off a copy of the parts list soon.
So I can color-code / mark off, or otherwise create a document as to what...
I have secured
needs to be bought
needs to be restored
Oh yeah, forgot a few things...
NOS Beru plugs
NOS vent latches
NOS inner cargo door handles
NOS Eberspächer thermo switch
NOS governor
NOS vacuum advance line
NOS throttle tube
NOS intake manifold
NOS heat riser asbestos thingy gaskets
NOS cab door outer handles/seals & the rest re-chromed/keyed
New ice chest seal
New curtains
New rack rivets
Just sent a grip of steel rack slat screws to get chromed.
Here's the 65-67 jack point...
I've seen some "NOS" ones out there for sale that are missing the features (little tabs) my fingers are touching in these first two pics... of the lifting slot. Go ahead stick your finger in your jack-hole

I told Greg about it a little while back.
He was a little surprised too.
I've been beating the bushes... I wanna do this baby justice.
Forgot some bits...
NOS fuel pump
NOS rear towel bars

I obviouisly need to practice up in my 'beating the bushes'.... I actually probably suck at finding parts... but I try.
I apparently missed the huge stash sale.
(sad trombone sound... wha, wha, whaaaa)
Found the crank in Canada.
It's not tecnically correct (311 part no)... o-ring type. But... I'm going to buy a new case... so it'll be dual relief & not 100% correct anyway.
Will do Euro rear lenses, front disc brakes, dual cirucuit, 12v.
I'm trying not to bastardize it too much & stay true to form... well, sort of. _________________ aka: Evan

This thing isn't driving yet?
Unless it was wired for them, Euro lenses will be a pain. _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

The deal I struck with the Mrs. was that I can get the westy, but her Ghia vert will be done before the westy. Marriage.... compromise. Happy wife/life. _________________ aka: Evan

Easy peasy, actually.
All you have to do is run a wire from the MC to the rear lights. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

I was assuming he was going to wire it like from the factory. _________________ RPM=(MPH*336* (R&P*4th*1.26))/Tire Diameter in inches |

That would just be changing out the turn signal switch and running another wire I think... _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Those are better. Do you have the flywheel? Do you have the shims; they are different than the earlier ones as you probably already know? |
