We are pleased to announce a new event in the Northeast for 2017, the Air Raid @ Island Dragway. This will be our first of hopefully many shows at a new venue for the air cooled hobby with racing of course but will also have a show and swap. We've lost a number of well attended shows this year so our club wanted to try and bring something new to you all. The event is open to all makes and model vehicles as long as it's an air cooled (Volkswagen, Porsche, Corvair, etc).
The flier is attached with most of the details. We're still ironing out a few things with the track such as vending prices but otherwise things are a go and we'll update you all here soon.

What a way to start the Show Season with racing, swapping and show. I've never been to Island Dragway so, this is a first for me.

New season. New Show. Just a hop, skip and wobble up the road from Clinton. Looking forward to it. Anyone coming into the route 78/31 connector to head up 31 care to meet up and caravan?

My home shop is 15 minutes from Island. If anyone has any issues they are welcome to use it.

Great news! We've been able to negotiate an even lower admission fee for show cars down to only $15 (Includes car and driver). We also confirmed the swap spaces will only be $20 for a roughly 10' x 10' space.

The Filthy Buggers and Pocaro Bros Racing offered to kick some money in for the cash purse for the racing, so the total pot keeps growing. Should make for some good competition!

Not a dumb question at all. I'm sure some of the racers will chime in.
I think all you need is a seat belt, full face helmet, long pants, and a running car. I plan to run what ever aircooled car that works that weekend.
