Real-life celebrity Joshua Jackson has/had a Ghia. He's an actor probably most noted for starting in a TV series here in the US called 'Dawson's Creek'. He also starred in the 2010 film 'Man From the Moon'.
Looks like the car wasn't running too well that day...

Actress Julie Newmar, whose film career began back the 1950s, owned a Karmann Ghia at one point. She also starred as 'Catwoman' in the 'Batman' TV series and made guest appearances in episodes of 'Star Trek' and 'The Monkees'.

Oh, it was probably running just fine.
You know those Hollywood types, always trying to save the planet - he was no doubt just making a conscious public effort to reduce his carbon footprint that day.
Is it just the camera angle, or is there something funky about that windshield frame?
Perhaps that Ghia is really a converted coupe just acting as a genuine cabriolet? |

I faintly remember watching a film on Jim Croce on TV. There was a view of his farm and I think I spotted a Karmann Ghia there. I did an internet search but found nothing on a Ghia of his. But I did find a Beetle of his he called "The Raisin".

Lets not overlook our very own VIP.
Several published novels, one of them making it all the way tot he Berlin Film Festival as a film adaptation, qualifies the owner of "Emiko" as a VIP.

Yep Chris is indeed our own VIP author as is John (calexican) also one of our own. Absolutely amazed to find find out he, like myself owns a '58 Ghia Coupe...
I didn't know who John was until he mentioned his name...I then knew straight away as I already had 9 of his band's albums and a couple from his previous band.
Calexico are well know throughout the world as one of the hardest working and gigging bands. Apart from the 12 or 13 full albums they have written the soundtrack music for the movie "The Guard" (Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle) music featured in the classic TV series "Breaking Bad" had a wake up song played aboard the Space Shuttle "Endeavour" on its final flight etc etc...you get the picture. 
Just shows you don't have to look too far for Ghia VIPs.
