Yesterday I posted a little tour of our Brazilian Baywindow as I thought that The Samba community might appreciate it. The post got moved and didn't get much traction, which is a shame because I also included a bunch of pictures and some of the things that I've learnt from the trip. Mainly though the post was about the video giving you a chance to see some of the strange things about Brazilian buses.
I might just release it on our YT channel, I feel bad as Leah put in quite a bit of effort making it for TS.
Here's the vid

Brilliant video Ben, enjoyed watching it! You've got some balls travelling the distances you've done but certainly made some fantastic memories!
I now wanna go get our 73 kombi and head off around the UK on a road trip |
That would be fun, you gusbus should do it!
I'm hoping to be able to to see the UK via kombi power in the next couple of year too. |
Like the US (I would imagine) we have lots of superb scenery, you'll love it over here, I hope you manage to make it _________________ Major; 1977 Westfalia Campmobile

This isn't part of the Hasta Alaska series and was just one of the bonus videos that I usually post on my Patreon page, but I thought other people might find it interesting so am posting it here.
After 6 years my mother caught up with me in the Kombi and I asked her what she thought of my lifestyle choice.

Thank you - I'm always trying to get better. Much of this trailer was shot with better camera equipment, which definitely makes it easy to edit. The next series we do will have a significant step up in quality.
Main episode will be out on Thursday, I'll post here. _________________ Around The World in a VW - Follow the Docuseries

I'm pretty sure this thread is visible to at least some people.
There is a steady and building amount of views on our YT channel coming from this thread:

I would think anyone that reads any negative comment about anything is inclined to see what the fuss was about? The rubber neck affect
Last night I partook in a reboot of NONA. Three of us endorsed and shared this club on Facebook. The traffic went through the roof from late last night 9pm to now. Just by sharing and endorsing.
I'm sure if it was antagonistic - the traffic would of doubled.
The Bay Window Forum here on the samba is the largest comunity with the most posts. Lots of lurkers, lots of stupid questions and ideas for sure.
For sure skillz, there are people out there you don't know but will say they know of you and your antics here. Guaranteed. You are cooler than even you think
Wreck or not, my post just made several people look at Hastas vids on Facebook.
Just an observation. _________________

It did prompt my rare check-in of this thread (of which, the only few checks I've ever made were to see the drama when I started noticing the locks). _________________ My name's Steve and it's pronounced "Bust 'em" (cuz people think I'm Tom) 😏 |

We have been hard on Ben (sometimes for good reason) but maybe it's time to cut him some slack. We are not in his shoes and he has done a lot of positive things (and some real goofy things). He has shown a willingness to learn (slowly) and it's easy to be a keyboard critic. He knows he is not perfect - as none of us are, although by some of the posts you might think otherwise.

I'm just ball busting, I don't really mind HastaAlaska for the most part.. Hell, I even watched the video series. _________________ -Ian

To be fair this thread belongs in Destinations and Travels, not here.
It has minimal Bay content - when one has a specific problem on a Bay on a trip, you should start a new thread that outlines the problem, solicits the help, and outlines the solution. Then the thread stays useful. A journal format isnt useful, as the helpful info on Bays is buried in stuff most here arent interested in, ergo lost.
To be really fair, this isnt my forum and the owners are pleased to do with it as they see fit. _________________ .ssS! |

I gave up on this shit storm a few months ago, did we figure out who got the van & did they actually receive it? _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.
