How did you wire your illuminated headlight/foglight switch

OK Timwhy, help me out. I'm seeing a discrepancy in your wiring between the above image and this one:

In the first one you indicated to jumper the bottom right to top left pin to get the indicator to turn on. But in the next photo you indicate the wiring should be to jumper top left pin and center pin to the gray wire with blue tracer on the headlight switch. That's what I did and I get the indicator to turn on when I flip the switch but am not getting the instrument light to power on. Just trying to figure out if I wired it correctly per the pics. Should I try another 944 switch or is there a way with the switch out of the car to test the instrument light?

Confusing it surely is, sorry. The top pic was not produced or taken by me just the bottom one was. The bottom pic is
what I did to get the switch and fogs to function as I wanted them to.
