Finally done...
I highly recommend the Sync-Link linkage. It may not fit the Vintage Speed theme, but it is the best linkage I have used. Trust me, CB Hex bar and CSP did not cut it.
I am not saying those are bad linkages, but for a 36HP engine with dual 2bbl carbs, which is rare, they do not work well...too many modifications needed.
Currently running, 57 idles, 120 mains, 180 airs, F11's, and 27mm vents
I'm still playing with the idles/mains, but it currently is running smooth. |

Looks great, it's different but looks very clean! any plans to put it on the dyno? |

It's been a while, but I finally have this pig tuned
For others that go this route:
57 idles, 107.5 mains, 180 airs, F11's, 45 power jets, and I had custom 24mm chokes (venturis) made by Jaycee. The chokes may have been overkill, but I wanted to increase port velocity for better drivability. Top end would benefit from 26mm vents.
If you plan your engine build for dual Webers or Dellortos, I highly recommend that you go with a 69.5mm stroke or bigger, and larger pistons. Boost compression to high 7's or 8's. My 64mm x 77mm engine with 7:1 compression has low vacuum and makes tuning a pain.
The power is much improved, I just should have stroked the engine during the original build. That's my two cents...much better than the dual single 32's |

Updated picture...just waiting on a part to complete the hex bar.
I made this high flow breather system, you can bolt on without drill. It has two valve vents, one case vent and return to both side of carbs (air filter)

It's clean! The best thing to do would be to use an air/oil separator in-line before it goes to the intakes. Oil lowers octane rating. Not an issue maybe with super-mild engines, but higher compression, ragged-edge engines will require it. |
