I'm bringing my 300cc dirt bike to ride in the adjacent 2-wheel park! Friday's are a great day to ride there as it's pretty deserted. _________________ 89 Tristar Syncro Doka - White

there have also been bicycle rides to town
just to be clear, no 2 wheelers (bicycles or motorcycles) allowed on the trails in the 4wd side of the park.
the adjacent, motorized 2 wheeler park (where 4 wheelers and pedal 2 wheelers are not allowed), is a short pavement ride away from our camp.
hope that makes sense _________________ My Soapboxes: Inflation; Handling; Gearing; Decoupling; Swepco |

Thanks, I think that makes sense. Bicycles to town sounds fun. Maybe I didn't read well enough but I didn't see a fee for any off road use. Think I can just use the OHV to get to the 2 wheel park? I don't need a ticket in CA for anything.. _________________ 84 Wolfsburg Edition Westy |

here is the official park page
http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1179
I suggest you verify anything I say with them
bykes are forbidden in the 4wd park
imo, NO you can NOT drive a 2 wheeler between the 4 wheel and 2 wheel park,
NO 2 wheelers are allowed to share the Public Park 4 wheel trails for any reason
Syncrofest is held in a Private place called Area 5 that is not public, we have reserved it, and it will be full of people camping, wall to wall
you will be able to drive a 4 wheeler from camp, on a dirt road, to the public 4wd area
or from camp on a paved road, anywhere you want to go, 2 wheel motorized offroad or pavement, and 2 wheel pedal on pavement
use of the public park is $10 per day, it is included in your syncrofest fee (4 days), the other $10 is for the Saturday Tritip BBQ included in your SFest fee
disclaimer, I am not in any way an official, just telling you what I believe is true from participating since 2008 _________________ My Soapboxes: Inflation; Handling; Gearing; Decoupling; Swepco |

We're headed up from San Diego but with work schedules we aren't leaving until Thursday evening, stopping in Santa Barbara and getting to Hollister Friday morning. |

someone creative could form a syncrofest travel group map, on waze for example, and anyone logged in, can see and show other pilgrims positions as they converge on planned caravan meetup points

Woohoo! I just signed up!
This will be my first event with other like minded people! Looking forward to meeting you guys.
I wouldn't mind caraVANing up with others. Aiming to leave Thursday, but possibly Friday, depending on my preparedness. I am in the Ventura County area and can meet up with you more southerly folks on your way up the 101 to Hollister. _________________ 1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia 1.9L Water-cooled (aka "Osmo") |

Well this sucks. Can't go because I'm "too valuable" to go on vacation during an inventory at work. There's nobody that can step in and do my job during this time. Oh well.. consider my $50 registration fee a donation to the cause. Have fun. |

I just signed up. I think I will be coming down in the 78 Westy. Just put in a rebuilt trans with a Peloquin rear diff. Looking forward to how it handles the offroady bit. Just have to get the rebuilt motor dialed in and running nice in the next couple of weeks....
and go to work
and be the man of the house
and take care of every one else...
