here is the info for The CVA's "Last Hurrah" Sunday December 4th

Don't put your VW in winter storage yet, we still have one more event to go! Sunday December 4th, "weather permitting" we will be gathering at the Westbrook Town Beach 401 Seaside Ave. Westbrook Ct. 06498 from noon to 3:pm for our Last Hurrah. Last year was our biggest turn out yet with a few of us participating in the town's Annual Tree Lighting parade afterwards, decorating is encouraged! Are you crazy enough to go to a Volkswagen event in December? For more info contact Bill 860-395-9964 [email protected] or Chris [email protected] or www.westbrookct. us for Tree Lighting details.

I was hoping to have most of the car painted by now but got behind. I was able to get primer on it a few weeks ago but wasn't happy with how it came out. I sanded then primed it again. It's still wet in these crappy phone pics.

The next few days should be good for the heater channels. I would say this is the best you could expect for December but it seems like it's this warm every year we get our Christmas tree;)

It does seem to be warmer during December these last few years. Highs of 43 for Saturday and Sunday so I'll be in my winter clothes with my welder. Maybe it will warm me up Laughing when ever you cold, just touch your glove to the metal Very Happy

I don't think I'll be going either. We are getting the tree on Saturday, so Saturday into Sunday will be welding.

I've been working on this for a few days now off and on. It's hard to see in the picture but it was a little rusted out. This is the most shapely piece I have worked on so far. Lots of grinding will be involved with my wields. Me and the welder just weren't on th same page; )

Today I spent a little more time welding and grinding. Getting closer. It's hard to see in this crappy smartphone picture but the bottom left section just as it curves under the fender is new.

Thanks for the compliments guy's! It's not going be a show car but I'll show it. I'm just hoping for something presentable when done with my "cheapskate paint" job Smile I'd really like to be able to use this car more regularly this year. I'm also really hoping to take it to Grand Isle VT for a long distance trip the end of May.

I meant to mention in my earlier post, if the paint doesn't come out nice my plan is to wet sand it and just make it look old. That's how the rear fenders came out when I attempted to sand out all the runs last year. Actually I'm not going to touch the rear fenders till the shell is painted. Also the rear quarter Windows just totally frustrated me when I tried to add the window chrome and I haven't tried anything with them in weeks. I'll take another try later this week.

This is it while it is still wet, probably the best it will look but I'm ready to be done with it. It's a little thin in some spots runs in others but what would you expect with tractor paint and an electric sprayer? Smile And the sprayer gave me a bitof trouble so I had shut it off and on cause it wouldn't stop spraying.

Looks great! Electric sprayer? Do tell more...
I think I want to paint my car and my air compressor is a little small. An electric sprayer could be the key.
