So, my volksworld winning square is coming out of hibernation and the front bumper blade has some pits. It was a rechromed one from Type 3 Detectives.
I have seen the stainless steel ones available from Vietnam, has anyone got experience of these and can you buy them individually? |

Just looked at the PTT bumper website and do not see any T3 listing. (Early) .Are they no longer making those bumpers? Has anyone recently bought any?

How bad is the pitting?
I recently bought some Quick-glo that was demonstrated on Jay Leno's garage. |

I did purchase the stainless bumpers from PTT. The rear fit perfect, but I had problems with the front. They made me a new bumper for me that would fit after I provided them measurements. I'm a dealer in hawaii and have sold several sets to local guys here. I always make sure to take measurements of their existing bumpers before putting an order in to make sure it fits. They hand make each bumper. _________________ 68 Fastback Build: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5396323#5396323 |

Wow ,that really makes me rethink this. After shipping, taxes etc, I'm not sure if I want to give measurements and possibly have to return large items to Vietnam. My existing ones aren't too bad ,but rechroming is an expensive crap-shoot. I've seen lots of rechromed bumpers that look like hell ,cost huge dough and didn't last. |

I bought a pair of stainless bumpers from Vietnam as well a few months ago... Shipment to Europe - Switzerland.
And the only issue was...that the screws are too short. You need to use the original ones.
But they really fitted like a glove.
A few weeks later - I drove to a typ3 specialist and he couldn't believe that these bumpers are "repro"... |

Well, after rethinking my rethinking, I ordered the bumpers. I doubt I could get them replated for this price. Will report back when they arrive . |

Just installed my new PTT stainless bumpers and could not be happier! Fit perfectly. Really nice stuff. Arrived at my door in BC Canada in 4 days. Their contact person was very helpful. I doubt that I could have had my original set redone for the price. As stated earlier, keep the old hardware to reuse. 3 thumbs up! |
