There is a bracket on the right and it is spot welded on... So a 64 1200 wouldn't have this bracket?

Correct, 1200s have an air cleaner on the left side that mounts to the fan shroud instead.

Then the birth certificate is wrong or is it possible the bracket was installed and not used?

Good question - My first guess would be they messed up on the birth certificate.
I doubt the bracket would be there unless it was a 1500cc Bus.

You have M-code 425 and M-codes 423/424/426/427 all include the 1500cc engine so I bet 425 did too.

You can also see in my photo above that the 1500cc Buses have the regulator mounted on that side - you could check for the 2 mounting holes there to see if those are present too.

It has the regulator holes so going with birth certificate mistake. It's getting a 1500 anyway. Smile

Thanks

Few things done today. Removed the last bit of rear floor along the back. Not an easy bit to remove.

Replaced the bottom of the wall ribs. Trying to get everything ready for when my metal arrives.

Had 15 minutes so tried scraping some paint. A long gasket scraper works well. Took some experimenting to get it working well. This will go much faster than sanding or blasting only to remove paint. I will use the blaster to remove what is left

Great work! Looks like some of the pedal splash pan threaded mounting holes in the lower nose has been ripped out.

Thanks.
Yes two. Going to cut a section out, straighten and weld a nut to the back. Maybe tomorrow.

Fixed those ripped out nuts this morning. Gave me a chance to see in the nose. All looked very clean.

Had a couple spots that were swelled from rust between two layers of metal. In both spots I had to patch the inside layer also.

Now that the side, front and floors are ready for the steel to arrive I moved to the back. It had some damage so decided to dismantle in order to straighten the parts.

Got a couple parts off and mostly straight.

Edit: found a before picture. Forgot to take one before I started.

Some stuff arrived. Smile Came from Concept1 and all looks good, price was reasonable and shipping was fast.

Started fitting parts. Looks like it will all go together very well. the rocker was for an earlier bus but by replacing the fender it didn't matter. Rocker and fender had slightly different curve at bottom so I removed most of the forward steel from fender. The way it is fitted there will be not visible seams on the inside.

Removed some steel tonight

You can see the past damage, the reason I went for the 14" rocker. Think most of the bend will come out when I straighten the ribs. Will use an hydraulic cylinder to gently push them out while tapping where its bent. Hopefully tomorrow nights project.

Straightened the side. Came out great. Was worried I was going to have a hard time getting the body smooth without lots of filler.

Side panels all fitted and ready to weld. Just waiting for my zinc primer to arrive. I ordered it 4 weeks ago but at least it shipped.

Decided to tackle the rear engine lid header and floor. Had some past collision damage that wasn't fixed well. Removed the inner and outer header.

With the header removed I could pull on the floor and flatten out the wrinkles with a steel block and hammer. Came out amazingly well.

Now I need to remove the filler and straighten the header parts.
