You can see if it was a 1500cc Bus but checking for an air cleaner hanger welded onto the top of the engine compartment.
On the right side as you face the engine.
Example of 1964 1500cc engine with 1500cc air cleaner on right side: |
There is a bracket on the right and it is spot welded on... So a 64 1200 wouldn't have this bracket? |
Correct, 1200s have an air cleaner on the left side that mounts to the fan shroud instead. |
Then the birth certificate is wrong or is it possible the bracket was installed and not used? |
Good question - My first guess would be they messed up on the birth certificate.
I doubt the bracket would be there unless it was a 1500cc Bus.
You have M-code 425 and M-codes 423/424/426/427 all include the 1500cc engine so I bet 425 did too.
You can also see in my photo above that the 1500cc Buses have the regulator mounted on that side - you could check for the 2 mounting holes there to see if those are present too. _________________ How to Post Photos

It has the regulator holes so going with birth certificate mistake. It's getting a 1500 anyway.

Great work! Looks like some of the pedal splash pan threaded mounting holes in the lower nose has been ripped out. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |
