I am starting a new thread here, which is basically a continuation of the my original thread restoration of a 1966 RHD Teak T34.
I could not bring myself to do a body swap on my teak. It has been shelved for now, well a few years at least.
So, now I am restoring a sea blue T34, of which I am using 2 donor cars. both originally sea blue.
What a drama this whole thing has turned out to be. All i wanted was a half decent T34 to drive on weekends. Anyway here we go.
The rust bucket
the body how i bought it
the body after stripping
The start of the car. Everything starts at the engine bay. A completely repaired engine bay ready to be welded into the body. _________________ VW fan & Real Estate Agent at www.argyproperty.com.au

I've never seen the engine compartment repaired like this. But I'm sure it's the easiest way to get at the metal. Great to see the progress on your RHD 1965. Body looks good in bare metal! Did the previous owner install the fuel door on the right fender? What in the world would have led him to do that? |

Left Hand 1/4 panel too badly flared and grinded, so it was cut off and a new lower section was made and rust repaired underneath

WOW, you've been busy. Very nice work. It's a shame they cut that body up so much, but it's their loss and your gain. While not perfectly rust free, T-34's seem to have some "built in" rust (yes, I've owned one before). Nice job on bringing it back to life. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Wow.
That is some fancy work right there.
Thanks for the update. _________________ "...these cars were preferred by the racers because the strut front suspension results in far superior handling than the regular torsion bar front end..." - Keith Seume. |
