Hello All,
I was hoping someone with same vintage Hazet Tool Knowledge may be able to help me identify what I have. I have had this tool box for a few years and haven't found much info on it with the research I have done.
I actually forgot I had this until a couple weekends ago when I was cleaning out my garage and stumbled on it again. I posted a few pictures in a local VW Group I'm a part of looking for some information and had a number of people try and buy it from me but not to much info on it. I would like to know roughly what year this set is from, and what to value this if I decide to Trade or sell them off eventually. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, here are some pictures.
Thanks

Kyle,
That's the "suitcase" ... a VW mechanic's tool set.
It looks late 50's to mid-'60's.
Count me in... as being the first person to contact if you decide to let it go Ready to make you a very solid offer of CASH and/or parts.
Yours is missing several tools:
Big socket
Needle nose pliers
One or two drifts
breaker bar
some extensions

Can anyone tell more about original white assistant?
Have now had three (and sadly sold them all).
Did not know that they were originally white !
Now I own one again. Completely original paint !
I think the original Porsche service?

On page four of the 1961 catalog...

There are some white carts being used... looks like they are maybe doing bodywork.

Figured this may be the place to ask.... did Hazet ever make a decent size logo magnet? Or someone making a generic one today? Something a decent size like 10" or something.
Just curious. Thought it would be nice to slap a few in the shop.

Yes, that's the Hazet Volkswagen mechanics' tool set. Yours looks like an early 50s version with only the 1131cc (75mm) piston ring compressor. The 1954-57 set has 1131cc and 1192cc (77mm) ring compressors. Elsewhere on this thread someone posted pics of an even earlier one with black steel trays instead of wood.
AFAIK, the VW mechanics' set was renamed Hazet 2500K for 1958 and later. _________________ fig

Kind of odd... the 110 TA didn't appear in the 1965 catalog (beginning of big "A")... so, it must be no earlier than '66... and yet... you have little "a"
You don't have the three sockets shown in the 1967 lower part of right-hand door.
You have a space for a long extension or something... at the left edge of the right-hand door... and 1967 doesn't.
Your upper tool track on the left-hand door is lower than for 1967... has five spaces ('67 has four)... and yours doesn't seem to have the hanger for the "Bandschlüssel" below the screwdrivers.
1967

Does it have the 2nd layer tray as well?
Does anyone know the name of this kit? Someone told me 2500 K-3 but the 2nd tray is different on that one.. _________________ Insta: @kaiscollectionvt

Can anyone date this Hazet 100?
It doesn't look just like any of the three catalog images (below), but seems to fall in the range shown.
Maybe it is a 1951... but apparently the 1951 catalog copied the 1950 photo?
It is similar to the 1950 style... and pretty different than 1952 style.
Here are some things I noticed....
The dark blue inside apparently ended sometime in 1951/1952.
The square cornered drawer handles appeared before (Dec.?) 1952.
The 791 (valve cotter gun) is located on the left inside wall of the cabinet. But is shown on the central area of the left door in the 1950 / 1951 catalog photos.
The screwdrivers are arranged on the right-hand door, different from the 1950 / 1951 catalog photos.

I found these hazet wrenches in the stock of a defunct foreign parts dealer.
They are all stamped 2 different sizes which don't match the actual size of the wrench.
Does anyone have a clue about these?

The W is for Whitworth, an older standard that labeled the tools by the diameter of the shank and not the width of the fastener head. Last commonly used on some British cars. BS is for a later version of Whitworth.
This link has a pretty good explanation:
