Has anyone put A swivel passenger seat in a early bay bus, I know modifications would have to be done to the metel. The extra seat would be very convienent. Thanks jason

How early a Bay. The seat rails in the '76-'79 are different then the '69-'75. So if you are also going to use the '76-'79 seat it should be ok from that mod point.

So you will be able to get the swivel in with a little modding but your original seat from your '72 will not fit on the rails.

This is something I have wanted to do to my 71 for some time, upgrade to better seats.What mid 70;s seats will fit that have arm and headrests? If mods are required, whta are they , thanks all.

it requires some cutting and welding fabrication
you need to source a swivel base (all 3 parts incl the welded in base) from a donor (hint a vanagon donor swivel will work too)

here's an OEM Bay swivel base. in all 3 pieces.. the green painted piece is welded into the original westy. and should be in your install as well.

here's some pics of putting a Vanagon swivel base into a 73 bay tintop turned camper. this requires the use of 76-91 VW bay/vanagon seat.
