Well I didn't like how a PO had painted the ceiling black, I figured it had a white vinyl cover before so I used Kilz to cover the black, I wanted to do something that visually had an impact. It lightens the interior up. And I got to work on the underside. I think I am going to have to replace that back outrigger to fix the frame behind it. Good news is that the noise I have been hearing may not be from the torsion after all. I had a jack under it and could not get it to make the noise. The right rear jack point was loose and there is a piece of the cabinet in the area the noise was coming from that is loose so it could be it. But at least I have started the repairs.[/img]

Well my order today was more than I paid for the bus, but I hope it will put the belly back in shape. Once the parts get in going to take a couple days off work to work on the bus.

Got the inside stripped down enough to expose the floor, found a porno mag behind the wood. A few holes in the floor above the cross members. Get to spend some more time on it the next couple days, my sheet metal order is due in tommorow.

That's a neat bus. You should be camping that thing on Kellys!!! No trailer charge for the ferry like you'd have for the pop-up trailer. Very Happy

I discovered the LEAKOIL folks many years ago on a hunting trip there with my Baja. I do hope to make one or more of their camp outs. My dad has a cabin there and my one brother pitches a fit when the dogs get on the furniture so I plan on using this in the driveway there as well. As it is I can and do ride my bicycle to Kelly's from my house at least once a year, Jet Express dock is like a mile from me.

So I ordered some new tires today. One more day of my day job then Wednesday on it took off to work on the bus. Sounded funny in a meeting last week when I said I was going to be "under a bus" this week. Coworkers thought I meant something way different.

Worked on the rust some. Is there supposed to be a center rocker inside between the inner and outer?

Glad to see you working on this. There is no middle rocker. Keep up the good work!

Yes there is a middle rocker, that what's showing in the picture, you could fix that by adding metal to the lower half, your door slider track is attached to the middle rocker,so be careful where you cut,on earlier bus 76 on I believe that that the middle rocker was deleted, not sure when it was.
You have lots to do on that one, watch for metal warping when using the torch.A cut off wheel does a cleaner job,but not as quick.I see you're using a plasma cutter not a torch, looks rough on rusted metal.

Yeah discovering that rust hinders the cutting process, but the wire wheel on the grinder helps.. It's really kinda fun getting this rusty stuff out and watching the replacement parts start to fit in.

Can you give us the specs on those impressive tires?
Manufacturer, tire dimensions, load rating, etc.?

Hmm... looks fairly sketchy.
"Great for light duty farm truck application"

So, the LT signifies that they could be used on light trucks. But no actual load rating provided.

But I'd worry about speed rating, then. Also none provided. If these are good for around the farm, that's one thing. Good on the highway? Something else entirely.

And a retread with no real rating info? Not for me.

The cases are Goodyear Wranglers AT and says load range C on it. They have an all terrain as well.

https://www.tirerecappers.com/tires/all-terrain-tires/lt19575r14-retread-rambler-at/

I have been running Treadwite retreats on my baja, f150 and ranger with the mud tread similar to this one for several years. They sing quite a bit but I don't mind.

Did not get as much done as I hoped I would. The passenger side frame rail needs 2 more small patches and it's done. Got part of the middle rocker in, and worked on cleaning rust off the areas I will be welding to. And for once I cleaned up after myself when I was done working for the evening. Shooting a league match tommorow so don't know that I will get much done . Glad I remembered I had a little air grinder, it helped get to the tight spots.

No work this weekend on the bus. Did get mom out of the hospital and to a rehab nursing home, hope to get her home soon. One of my supervisors picked me up some Ospho last week for the rust and I got a Coleman propane stove for it and a folding chairs that Harbour Freight had on sale. But I also picked up a shrinker stretcher set for metal fab.
