Hi, I have fitted a CSP adapter (http://www.csp-shop.de/shop/produkte/en/offers_27068a.html ) in my type4 lump but dont seem to get much of a reading from it. I have tested the sender and thats working fine. From its position within the case I dont see how it gets an oil feed to measure its temp as it sits behind the oil pressure piston. Any help on this mush appreciated

So you note it does not have "much" reading.....but it does have some?
The biggest problem I can see with this part is that even though it gets some oul flow past it to the case return vent.....it is also hanging out in the airflow.
There is already known issues with oil temp sending units and airflow when the oil temp sender is used on the other side of the engine on thr round inspection plate where a lot of 914 cars put it. They have to insulate the sending unit from the airflow.
I would put a thermocouple run to a voltage meter while driving to see what the real temperature of the adapter plug is. Also.....I am assuming this is going to a VDO oil temp gauge? Because the senders are usually gauge speciifc. Ray |

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes its going to a VDO gauge. Found a posting on here about the same problem. It seems that its not a good position for the sender as it does not get much if any oil. Will go down the route of a modified taco plate
Cheers
