Don't know a lot about this kit, I was told it was available in Australia in the late 50's It was a kit made by Ken Virgin a VW racer from South Australia.

It uses 36hp Solex PCI carbs, the left carb is modified so the throttle linkage is on the right of the carb so it can attach to the linkage located behing the fan shroud.

I have it running but having a little trouble getting the idle right, I soldiered up the holes in the throttle butterflys and this has helped, I am running 50 idle jets and will try some smaller ones as the mixture screws run best turned almost all the way in.

I would be interested in hearing what others have found running twin PCI's

Nice setup you have there.

I have had similar problems with my dual 28PCI setup. However, my carbs were worn. I am now using fully rebuilt carbs and now getting things far closer to what I want. My problem is now my linkage, which I hope to sort in the next few weeks (it is not allowing the carbs to close fully as it is sticking). I am confident that once I sort that I will be able to obtain a good idle speed.

My carbs have been rejetted. See https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=670827&highlight=jetting

I'm running dual 28 PCIs on my Rethwish kit. No issues other then those related to the ginky linkage.
