This looks nice. A little rich for me but compared to other asking prices not bad.http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail/.php?id=2029220 _________________ It doesn't matter where you start, it all comes together; it all falls apart. |

Spotted this '71 Penthouse Camper on the road near my place, a ambitious young man & his Dad were trying to dollie it home on really old tires, which made it about 3 miles, then towed by AAA back to Mass.
It was on Cl for $1000, they got it for a bit less, The Jury is still out on weather it is a "good" Deal... _________________ Tom

1979 Transporter. No longer FI has a single Weber carb, a creative means of fuel delivery, patched front floor pan, missing middle seat. Someone added a side scoop, into what seems to be a tool box, and has the makings of a very solid project.
Opinions?
Chassis number, do transporters not have M-codes?
Has a GE 2.0L engine, original I would assume but lack means of verifying.
Dad's interested in a Transporter to turn into a weekender, we jumped the battery, with promising sounds of it kicking off but never had luck. It isn't getting fuel.
Lady wants $2500 but said she isn't firm. If only he knew what he's potentially getting hisself into, money sure goes quick!

Congrats Dad! It will look as good as Sam's in no time.
Ummm... Did he find it in the same forest you found yours?
It looks strikingly familiar... _________________ -Kent-

With Long retiring these plates are probably going to be hard to find going forward. I have one myself or I would have bought this and hung onto it for the next 091 I had to get into. |

Transporters rule.
You should have him start a build thread! I for one would dig watching the progress made on it. _________________ 1977 Standard Beetle -Sold-

Middle seats are worth money, sell that and buy a back seat for your shop seat. Just my $0.02. _________________ Brutis Patches Izabich: 1970 VW Transporter - 1776cc DP

Especially since it's a one year only '68 bench seat. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Talked to the "official owner" today about this bus. Made a deal over the phone for $700 with renegotiation's once I get there for condition or possible motorcycle trade. Wanted to see what you guys thought. I posted it on the 72 only thread too just in case.
All original motor and trans, the interior is 5/10 for roughness but the body is in really great shape. Not sure on rust yet, hoping to get more pics tonight.
Sight unseen is it worth $700 for a "quick to roadworhtyness" bus?

In case you didn't know, that is a Riviera camper top. If the interior is there and complete, you have a really nice setup.
Love that faded red paint, too. _________________ nothing |

Ok, so got a lot more photos of the bus! Made the deal but tried talking him down to $500. The bus was driven into town on the spare around 1992, parked at the parents house and lived in. About 17 years ago, they pulled it to an abandoned trailer park where its sat ever since. They couldn't drive it because the owner was arrested with the keys in his pocket and they never got them back. The floors under the mat are unbelievable! The camper setup looks to be all there but Im hoping you experts can tell me more details. The dash looked great, the engine bay looked awesome, and the blinds were pulled so the bedding/vinyl didn't get any sun on them for those last 17 years! The front seats are pretty gnarly though. Anyhow, tell me I did ok
