some of these items look like vintage motorcycle parts; those are definitely spokes in the one pic; the speedo looks like maybe early BMW or other German motorcycle, maybe Zundapp l or something? I'm not really an expert on thise bikes but the size of it and the design in the face looks similar to a 50s BMW that I used to have. i'm pretty certain that the Kooples another word to machines I had a similar speedo to the kitty if Beatles in the size and the graphics on the face of the speedometer. the latches obviously look like some sort of top latch maybe for car, but the little insignia with the tire and the wing would sldo make me think motorcycle; I would say it's definitely not VW. The only thing I see that possibly might be VW would be the distributor, although I believe the Scwhimmers and kubel, and early wartime Beetles used the 343T distributor. someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
I think the rule of thumb is that pretty much anything that is VW is going to be stamped with the VW type part number or with a VW logo or cogwheel logo if it's early.

I looked at a few photos online and the speedometer does look really close to schwimmer speedo but there are subtle differences in the actual hashtags or marks between each of the numbers and it appears that every picture I saw they were all made by VDO; yours looks like it's made by someone else. I looked at motorcycles speedo pics from the 1940s as well, and they all look very similar to yours too. sorry I couldn't be of more help. you may want to just post a new thread asking if someone can help identify this speedo, maybe it will catch the eye of someone more knowledgeable. |

I saw schwimmwagen speedos from different manufacturers like VDO or Veigel. My speedo is from Isgus(formerly Jsgus). They made speedometers since 1927
A german speedo service(specialist for pre war speedometers)approved that the isgus speedo was used in the schwimmer _________________ Aircooled Parts & Accessories
