Hi,
I'd like to know how looks like factory fender seal cut on oval beetles
I've searched on the forum but didn't find any info...
So, if somebody has a picture or a schema of the seal cut it'd be helpfull
thank you

Not sure how they did at the factory, but they have for sure been pre-cut prior to installation at the assembly line.
I would just place the beading in the desired position on fenders and then cut some V or U shaped slots at the holes. Then the fender can be installed on the car with all bolts without tightening any of them. Then the beading is pushed in the correct position and bolts are tightened one by one while adjusting the beading and fender to the desired position.

... yes, when I buy fender welting, one must cut for the bolt to fit through. Is easiest to make "U" cuts then, install as outlined. _________________ 5/50, pastel green 11G - SOLD

factory NOS welting ~ from the galley
Most aftermarket needs to be cut for fit. _________________ Rick

they are usually long but I have always had a fender loosely in place start at one end mark the hole and cut a U shape, then place it in the fender until it hits the next bolt ,mark and cut again
and I just repeat the process _________________ Cruiser pedals for sale (see my ad's)

I have the NOS plastic welts (not for sale-don't ask). It's supposed to be sunny & warm this weekend, so I will try to take a picture with a yardstick in between them. They are 50+ years old, so they may have shrunken somewhat. _________________ Thanks,
