I put my rebuilt tranny back in yesterday and when I hooked up my clutch cable I found that when I wound the wingnut to its max there was still slack in the cable.
Is there any thing I can put between the wingnut and the clutch release arm that will give me more thread? Because of the way the wingnut sits in the clutch release arm I don't see how I can add anything (like a couple of washers).
I'm hoping I don't have to take off the pedal assembly and replace the cable with a shorter one. |

Do you have enough sag in the bowden tube? Sometimes you need to add big washers on the end of the tube between it and the mount on the tranny to get more sag.
Also, there are a few clutch cables listed for a Thing, 111721335C and 111721335E, and 11721335A. Mine uses the shorter 111721335E (25mm is not a lot of difference, but it sure helps).

I didn't realize that there should be sag or a bend in the bowden tube. I shorted my tube a couple of cm to make the route more straight from where the tube comes out of the body and goes into the guide.
I probably shouldn't have. I'll stick the piece back on and see if it gives me the needed length so I can tighten the wingnut enough. |

If you cut off part of the bowden tube, you need a new one. _________________

Yes, id dawned on me, after I made that post, that the old tube wouldn't work.
Now I have to wait for Cip1 to have another sale. |
