I was unaware of how much work was needed on the front end.
1. new ball joints, seems not a problem, but one side had a bug eccentric, and a new one is on it's way from The Thing Shop, the only place I could find one. I see in the parts list, that a bug eccentric was used on early Things.
2, Front brake cylinders, I used cheap ones from CIP1, brakes are still spongy, maybe have to get expensive ATE ones.
3, Brake drums are oversized, new drums on their way.
4. Rear brake drum, all scored from running on the metal, at least I have 4 drums undersized in my parts stash. _________________ 63 singlecab

No surprise when buying a vehicle that's 43 years old.
I'm also finding that a job that should take a hour to complete often takes me most of the day, because nothing ever goes as planned when working on these old vehicles. |

spongy brakes are usually in need of more bleeding- would do that rather than new wheel cylinders- as it might just be an air bubble in the master. _________________ some days I get up and just sit and think. Some days I just sit.

I was also surprised, we bled the front and back brakes twice, and adjusted the back brakes. still spongy.
The real surprise was the small beetle eccentric to do alignment. _________________ 63 singlecab
