Thanks for the good photos! I was fortunate to visit this meet in 2001 while I was on an extended business trip in Bavaria. European VW fans certainly seem to be fond of the custom look found in the US with the narrowed front axles and extreme negative rear camber. How can you get such a narrowed front axle through the TuV?

yes, this look really comes more and more to europe. This year there were a lot cars with narrowed beams. I guess (and experienced), many TuV engineers don't know anymore what are the real stock parts (concerns also dropped spindles), because the cars are 50+ years old.
for example, i have a 2inch narrowed beam, which was no problem.
but the white bug has a 4 inch beam and is dropped static to the ground only 1,5 inches left. i'm pretty sure the owner dropped it after the TuV visit and changed the front beam afterwards.
the real challenge is, to get a H-license plate, like he did. The car has to be completely original (or time correctly tuned) for that, so he must have changed it afterwards. |

| I've been thinking of visiting this show for a few years now. What is the parts market/autojumble like compared to Camberg and H. Oldendorf? |

the parts market is minimum 2-3 times larger than Camberg.
also with interesting and some very rare parts if you take your time to look, but in summary more tuning and 3rd party parts than Camberg.
H.Oldendorf i can't say, i plan to visit it this year for the 1st time. |

no, even the weather in hannover was fine, in south western part of germany, where i come from, it was really bad, so i didn't drive with it. i hope next year. |
