Anyone know a source for the left and right chokes for the PDSIT 32's used on the late 60's type 3? Or if the chokes used on the PDSIT 32-34 for the bus work/fit? |

I bought a spare choke element from CB but just looked and can't find them online. I have one either left or right side ICR. I could send it to you and you can see if it fits. We can work out the details in a PM or two.

Thx for the offer. If they are not available, I may take you up on it but I was hoping to find a set. Aircooled has the rebuild kits and the 28mm venturies, but I've looked just about everywhere and can't find the chokes. I thought about ordering the PDSIT 32-34 for the bus engines, but I'd hate to get them and find out they were different. |

Like mentioned above I bought a set from CB performance. They are available in left and right. They are for the 34mm carbs they sell. Here is a link

I saw these but I think Aircooled had them also and stated that they were not compatible with the PDSIT 32 ( but I'd have to recheck) |

There are a lot of chokes ads in the Type 3 section here
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/search.php...ords=choke
Most are 6-volt but there are a few 12v ads too
I believe the chokes are the same for the Bus carbs. but I am not 100% sure.
Also one of the chokes is the same as a normal single Bug carb. Only one of them has to be reversed for the 2nd carb. Hint, hint. |
Some of the ones that are 12v and are advertised for the PDSIT 32 are between 100-250 bucks a pair
But your *HINT* is interesting.. I think I have a few chokes for the 30 and 34 laying around... I can check to see if they might fit.. flipping a spring would be no big deal. |

If the ones for the PDSIT 34's work why would someone pay $250.00 in the classified
The ones you linked too are only $14 bucks each. If you say they work on your PDSIT 32's I'll give them a shot.
Thanks |

Yes, some of those people are crazy.
If you can't find another source, look through all the ads, there are some that reasonable. _________________ How to Post Photos
