I need some help with hood/windshield alignment.

When I fold down the windshield the male studs on the top of the windshield frame do not align with the female piecess on the hood. I adjusted the female pieces as far as I could, but the windshield still needs to go to the passenger side about 1/8"

What is the proper way to make this adjustment? I know there is some left to right movement available where the 4 large hood screws attach to the hood, and there is some left to right movement where the windshield frame is bolted to the body underneath the hinges.

Do I loosen all 4 of the large screws on the hood and the four bolts underneath the hinges and then move the windshield frame to the passenger side while moving the hood towards the drivers side (sort of split the difference)?

I wonder what you guys do when painting to get it all back together and aligned while not messing up the paint. (Domeck Brothers please chime in).

Thanks!

Funny you mention this. I had the exact same issue when I was putting mine back together. I don't think I ever got it fully solved. Essentially, I just loosened everything up (hood screws, female receptive screws) just so thing would move a bit. Once I got it to kind of sit in, I tightened everything down again. I had to fiddle with it quite a bit to get it close. I still don't think it is perfect.

Good luck!

First look to see if the windshield is centered. If so then see if the hood is centered. Most likely the hood will be out.

I think my hood is a little bit out. To adjust that towards the passenger side do I just loosed the four large #4 Phillips screws on the long hood hinge and push it to the passenger side (do I do this with the hood latched or unlatched)?

Thanks

Loosen the 4 Phillips screws and with the hood open push over and you may need to adjust the hood latch because you moved it also at the front.
