Hi There,

I have a small set of Scat carbs that have never run right, they're on a 1641cc and the jets are 160's. After 70KM or so the plugs foul. I'm trying to source the jets. I have contacted SCAT and while they still list the jets on their site they are NOT available. So....Are there any guru's that can tell me what and where I might buy these? The style of jet I need is on the left. I picked up Brosol jets from cip1, they are the jet on the right and the diameter is smaller and the thread tighter.

If I can't find these jets what are the most reliable options for a carb? reliability and less fuzz take a WAY higher priority over performance for me?

Thanks in advance

Partsklassik looks like they carry the course thread ones. Type solex p40 jets in search and they pop up.

Aircooled.net?

I'd be checking those with a jet gauge to see what they are first..

I don't see anything on either aircooled or partsklassik that's close enough to risk buying without knowing.

If I'm measuring these to figure out what they are, what am I measuring? Thread diameter?

Looks like a Solex 32/34 Pdsit air correction jet.

i scrolled down on that page, and they had jets listed. i could add them to the cart and everything. did you call them and have them say they were unavailable?

summit racing seems to carry them. pic is wrong but the part number is right

I did, added them to cart and placed the order. I received an email saying they're not available.

I think I'm probably further ahead biting the bullet and replacing these

probably. i had to do the same with a set of weber DFV228 carbs. CB perf was importing them from brazil back in the 80's, and now parts for them are only available in brazil. my Portuguese sucks so i ditched them. Laughing

What are your thoughts on the weber 34M ICT's? I want simple, reliable. Performance is secondary.

The P40 carb is a POS.

Is this engine single or dual port?

When you get sick of the P40s, upgrade to dual 40 IDFs or 36/40 DRLAs, it will be night and day improvement.
