Hi Buggy boy,
There are probably going to be several variations on how to accomplish it, but it would help everyone else greatly if you were to post a few photos of your dune buggy (especially along the windshield area and back where the rollbar is, if there is one), so that those with ideas can be sure they are going in the right direction. Also, are you looking for a permanent or semi-permanent attachment, or will you actually be removing the surfboard on a regular basis? _________________ Gary David Holbrook

I would go to a boat shopand look at the stainless deck rails they sell. A couple different type rails will set you up with what you need that should look great too! _________________ Street legal fiberglass rocket ship

Hey guys thanks for all the replys the boat hardware sounds to be a great idea as it would be resistant to the salt water.
Tom quick question are those racks available in stores or are they custom made looks awesome and fits the hardtop really well.
Thank you everyone for your replys

Buggy boy - that rack was custom made by one of our neighbors who is an ace with fiberglass, carbon fiber & plastics. I posted it so you would see another option. Tom _________________ Manxter #16, 1968 Meyers Manx & Kick-Out SS #16 (WIP)

Made my own tube based and wood slat rack and use a strap or 2 to secure the surfboard......whenever I want it on... Easy on... easy off.

Not sure how to attach a board to a buggy. Of course I use softracks. But on a personal note. I like the way boards look with fins in front. Just saying.

... fins forward became a norm because if the board slid aft - even a loose strap will hold. These days it seems to signal how long you have paddled out.
Soft racks are good unless you just want a fixed display.
Nicely painted beetle eashc.

The VWAS Surfboard Mount Kit is finally here.
The design team wanted to create something that would me functional as well as aesthetically clean without ruining the flow of the dune buggy.
It made its debut at a local vw car show on Sunday March 5th, 2018 at Show n' Shine VW Car Show
It will be offered for sale on our website
So here it is:
