Installed the side glass. Pretty much a straightforward process, cut the seal material to length and glued together with 3M adhesive. The window roped in like you do with VW glass but seemed a little easier. Then installed the white locking strip. I found a tool on Amazon for installing this and it made the job go a lot better! I don't think you would be able to get it in without this tool. Spend the 12.00, you will be glad you did!

I relocated the deep cycle batteries from the rear of the Puck to over the axle for better handling when towing.

Well, between Daddybus and DiggerD; I feel like a complete lazy *ss! Embarassed

Great work, both projects seem to be coming right along.

[quote="DiggerD"]Installed the side glass...

Nice, looking forward to the day I replace the tired worn out window seals on ours. Holding off until I have the time and money for a complete strip down on all the old seals and hardware to prep for paint ect. Until then I've been watching and taking note of both your efforts.

So when installing the windows, did you put the seal on the Puck first - before installing the glass; or truly VW style with seal on glass, then onto the Puck?

Fortunately when I received my seals from 'Trollpuck'; he had the foresight to include the locking strip tool...

Claytonrite seal tool

Anyways, popcorn in hand, carry on.

Peace,

Hi everyone! Razz
We just bought this 1968 (not sure about date yet) Eriba Puck. It came with some signs in english and most exterior parts in place.

Here are a couple of questions:

- Where do you get new window rubber seals? (even generic)
- Exterior mouldings?
- Where to get new Tail lights?
- Anyone has got new Pop up canvas? where? our was rip off Evil or Very Mad

Here are some pics of our Eriba named ¨Indiana¨
The ownership title says 1955 but that sounds wrong. Any tips to know the year on our puck?

I'm hardly an expert on Eribas, but I do know the rounded doors started in the 1970 model year.

The hole in the front of your Puck is where the "Water Gravity Fill" mounts to.
Shockingly their still available and cheap on ebay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RV-camper-trailer-marine-G...1133765946

That's an exact replacement, I was surprised that an old 50 year old design was still available.

While I do have all new rubber and seals from Eribasar, ( he goes by 'Trollpuck' here on the Samba) waiting for a complete tear down of the camper, I've gotten away with inserting my own vinyl in the mean time.
I bought inexpensive 50' length of RV vinyl (ebay) and cut with scissors a width I thought would work, and it did. The red you see in the above photo is from ebay, cut to a proper width. Finding black should be no problem.

Not sure of what style brake/turn signal assembly you have, but if you have the pod style like I do...

You'll find them at JEGS...

Best of luck on your new toy and expect many curious onlookers where ever you camp!

Peace,

68Bug thank you for the info, great link! I already ordered the lights and water filler !

I have a couple of questions , if you can help me out it would be amazing.

- My Eriba came empty, any one have plans or sizes of the original seats/table?

- Any idea where to get the vent cover grill that goes outside the door? (the generic ones are to big or to small)

- Any info on the seal trim around the door? Any pics? mine doesn´t have anything on it, just bare aluminum Sad

Summer Puck projects. Added support chains for the cabinet doors that allow them to double as shelves. Also replaced the stretched out spring support for the table. Upgraded the water filler from ABS flapper to stainless steel marine unit with a screw-on cap. I had to solder on a copper adapter to step down from 1.5" to 1.25". Swapped out the short electrical box for a taller box that allows enough room for the GFI outlet, which powers the battery wizard battery tender from land power.

Just wanted to get your guys opinion my sisters neighbor has this 1971 eriba puck. Daddybus was nice enough to call me last night and give me some good information. I will post a lot of pictures hopefully in the process of buying it. Inside mostly original missing table but has the leg headliner has been replaced by the previous owner. Cabinets all seem to be there in in good shape stove works sink works all lights works. Has original curtains but not put up original floor and wall covering. Pop top is in very good shape no rips or tears. Outside is pretty dinged up on the driver side bottom top half seems to be very good on all four sides the previous owner has started to fill the holes with some type of an epoxy. All lights inside and outside work all outlets work fiberglass top is in good shape. All in all I think it's pretty good just needs a bit of work on the outside or maybe more than a bit tell me what you guys think and what you think the value is. And any other comments would be appreciated

JGB, the one thing is you don't find too many Eriba Pucks for sale these days. They do pop up. If buying from a VW site where people know more about them, pricing will be higher. But if buying from someone not in the VW scene, and just want to move them on, you can get nice deals.

I sold my Eriba Puck years ago for about $8K. Kicked myself for selling it. When I went to buy one again, no one had any for sale. I ended up stumbling upon the Meerkat which is a modern day replica of the Puck. I purchased mine in 2015.

At that time, I would have paid $8K to $10K on a puck again, one that was about the quality of the one I sold. One nicer I may have splurged higher. I am the kind of buyer that will pay a premium for something nice.

Mine looked a bit nicer cosmetically than the one you show you are looking at but I bet if the one you are looking at was listed on a VW forum, it would sell for $5K to $7K range. It looks fairly complete.

Maybe outside of VW groups, it could be cheaper. Did they offer you a price? Maybe they are just looking to sell it for a few grand or something.
