Sorry to hear the repair went South on you. With it all rebuilt it should be good to go for at least a few hundred of thousand miles.

i had problems shifting also on a 57 done adjustment and everything

biggest problem was 3de gear you have to time it perfectly revs/speed
9 out off 10 it was good but that one time
not very safe being really slow

tried to use a extension because this works on my 61 but i think the problem comes from the ball from the shifter itself
it can rotate and also can have wear on it

my solution is not elegant but works a csp shifter

Got the rebuilt gearbox back a few weeks ago. Had to go up north to work for a week, but I'd set myself a deadline of our local show, Plum Jam this weekend. After a few weekends and evenings putting everything back together and hooking up the last of the re-routed wiring, I only had time for a 10-mile shake-down, but the gearbox shifts perfectly now.

And we made it to the show...
