Lights pulsating (flickering)

I'd examine the wires near the fuses for corroded connector tips and broken wire strands. They were bent at a sharp angle fifty years ago.

Going to replace the generator I think the stater is just to worn out or maybe a bad section in the winding

Well I figured it out and forgot to post the solution, turned out I had the unusual 38 amp gen and was trying to use a 30 amp regulator, updated to the correct 38 amp regulator and problem solved. Boy do I feel dumb, never even thought to check the amps on the gen, had the motor out and was replacing it when I noticed it, did put a new 38 amp gen in as well so now I have an extra one

That was a one year only generator that had it's own fan tin, hub, and fan bolt. Glad you fixed it.

The motor was built by the PO I had no idea never even heard of a 38 amp gen. The Samba forums are what educated me on the subject.
