I think there's a problem with my beam. At this angle that the adjusters are welded in at, won't the car be on-the-ground low? Or maxing out the balljoints? You can see how the adjustment slot is right at the position of the stock grub screw. I have to rotate the bar a lot just to get the socket head cap screw to line up with the slot.
I'm uploading a video as well right now.
I got this beam 6 years ago as a freebie. Due to myriad life events, I'm just now getting back to working on the car. It's a '66 with balljoint front end. |

I think they are clocked pretty far favoring a very low ride height even in the higher end of the adjustment.
You can always fully assemble it and see, you might be able to run it... |

Here's what they looked like on a old Brazilian made ball joint beam that I know worked...
Quite a bit different from yours. Look like will drag the ground in any case.
Hate to say it but probably why it was free _________________ -Bruce

I would have to agree that they look to be installed a little off the norm but I would suggest assembling and checking the actual ride height with the adjuster adjusted for full lift if that is too low then you would need to remove cut and re weld one tube at a time to keep the alignment of the beam. |

I should add that the work was done for free locally. I asked for 0"-4" down, or 1" up - 3" down from stock. I brought him the beam and he refused payment because it took him so long to do it, like 12-18 months or something from what I remember.
Anyhow:

I'm a little goofy on a recording I guess. Just look at the beam.

It should look just like 61 posted above, you'll need to pull it out and redo it. It's almost as if the adjuster was rotated 3-4" from the original set screw location. Someone didn't realize that rotating the inner collar 1" would change the spindle height several times that amount after a certain distance away.
Same concept as if NASA aimed a rocket at the moon and was off by 1 degree in angle, you would miss the target by 200,000 miles or whatever _________________ Check out my truck brought back from the dead... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420762&highlight=sprayed+blood

A good lawyer Advised the welder that without consideration, no contract existed...
It looks like it needs rework. _________________ .ssS! |
