Beautiful metal work. I love watching someone w/skills do it!
I'm curious as to what media the blaster is using on it? Lots of long, flat panels to warp in the wrong blasters hands and wrong media. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

I've been using Patrick at Pro-Strip for probably 20 years now... He's stripped a lot of buses for me and I've never had a problem. Cars are his specialty and he does a great job. I'm not sure what he's using for media these days, but I'll ask next time. He's not the cheapest guy, but he's never damaged anything. I guess that'd be my advise when stripping a car. Don't use the cheap guy cause I've seen some sandblasters really ruin stuff. _________________ David S |

I finished up some nose repair before dropping it off at the blaster. It will need some additional work once reinstalled, so I didn't get too carried away...

Starting bodywork now and getting the metal sealed up. I'm using epoxy and high build primers, keeping the high build below the belt line for now...

Its very commendable that you're sharing filler pictures, we all know every high end paint job has its fair share of filler..but people for some reason think it should be a visual secret or something.
I cant wait to see more progress pics! _________________ drive your split. |

Thanks! Yeah, filler seems to be a taboo subject for some, but it's part of the process and necessary for a nice paint job... At least as far as I know. _________________ David S |

No worries. It's less than they used at the factory.

I don't believe that was a filler like bondo but rather, a thick, baked on primer coating that was sanded flat. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what they all are, but I've counted three and sometimes four different "primers" on original paint buses and it can be thick... Kind of off topic, but when doing original paint repairs it can take a fair amount of filler to build back up to the top surface. _________________ David S |

Bodywork on the roof where the metal work was done. There's a couple areas that need to be addressed around the sunroof opening, but I need to get this bus sealed up as our monsoon season in coming and it's getting humid. So a couple coats of epoxy primer and I'll come back to that...
Note the way the corners were fabricated on the deep skylight...
