My apologies if this has been asked before and I failed to find the information.

My bus is a 1971 Deluxe 7-passenger model 22. I haven't found the color or paint code for the interior of the bus and it's being restored and I'm being asked for the relevant paint codes.

Buses original color is Niagara blue and pastel White. From what I can tell the interior is a white but I'm not sure if it's the pastel or some other white color.

At this point they're going to paint the interior pastel. But I was hoping to find out definitively whether that's right or wrong.

Thank you for any feedback.

I think as a general rule, the inside of the bus was always painted the same as the upper color on a two-tone bus, while the underside and engine compartment were the same as the lower color.

At least that is how it is in my two different factory two-tone buses.

As noted, this is the combination that is found on my dad’s Mexican Beige/Bright Orange 79 Transporter.

Correct, same white as the outside upper on a Stationwagon from 71 on, 68-70 are lower color inside.

Alright thanks to all of you. this matches what I told them although I wasn't sure about the engine bay color so now I know it's also supposed to be blue.

Again, thanks.

Have 1969 VW bus tin top. Code on VIN plate indicates original paint color was “L282 Lotus White.”

Is that the color of the interior metal too? Or is interior metal a different color? I need to touch up the interior metal.

Thank you.

Yes.
You could see it also at brochures if the color differs more at doors and tailgate from the white roof lining that is used at real buses (type 22 or 28, not simpler kombis type 23) also at the columns and around the windows in the rear.

What is the second digit of your VIN?, does your M plate say "Westfalia"?
